Elisa Winter Holben
Principal | Creative Director
Elisa specializes in the strategy and design of brand experiences in the built environment. With a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University, she brings the discipline of scientific thinking to the art of creative problem solving. Elisa has worked extensively in brand environments design, including stints as Creative Director for large retail firms. Her design portfolio includes many high-profile installations, as well as large scale brand and retail systems for clients that can be found across the country. In 2011, she founded her own agency, WINTER HOLBEN, where she continues to work with top tier retailers — including Bank of America as Creative Partner to the Financial Center and Market Growth Strategy team— as well as cultural institutions, and local and regional businesses. Elisa is dedicated to the value of design and design thinking as a means to enhance communities. She volunteers for several local organizations and is passionate about the importance of spending time with family and the role design plays in the quality of life.
Brandon Holben AIA
Principal Architect | LEED AP BD+C
Brandon’s focus is on high-performance contemporary design solutions that respond to the surrounding environment and specific client goals. With a degree in architecture from the University of Buffalo, he has been practicing architecture for over 15 years. His portfolio of work includes five recent projects that have received AIANH design awards (Great Rhythm Brewing Co., Smuttynose Brewery, Ash Street Split, Hyder Court and 3S Artspace). He brings extensive experience, innovative design, and technical knowledge to his project work and is particularly adept at leading large-scale projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and creating strong partnerships with his clients. In 2015, when Brandon joined WINTER HOLBEN, as Partner and Principal Architect, the firm established itself as one of the only multidisciplinary architecture and design firms in the region. When he is not designing or building something, Brandon enjoys playing hockey, skiing, and boating on the Piscataqua River with his family.

Brand Experience Designer
Ian's wide-ranging design skills are integral to his role as Brand Experience Designer. A native New Yorker, he graduated from Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design. Over the course of his career, Ian has worked as product and graphic designer for a variety of clients, including large corporations, small businesses, and arts and nonprofit organizations. Before joining the WINTER HOLBEN team he co-founded a new brick and mortar retail location in Portsmouth, NH (specializing in heritage and American-made apparel and accessories) where he was responsible for branding, product design, merchandising and developing the overall brand experience. Ian has had an abiding interest in visual expression that’s drawn him into the worlds of fine art, music, maker, and outdoor adventure. When he’s not at work Ian’s likely drawing, playing or listening to music, cycling through the greater Seacoast area, or sharing time with his family.
Michael O'Brien AIA
Junior Architectural Designer
Patrick supports our team with great enthusiasm for architecture and a passion for continuing his design education. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture at Keene State College, where he was active in art and architecture around the campus and surrounding community. He represented the architectural school in several conferences, worked with nonprofit institutions, and collaborated on an art installation in downtown Keene, NH. Before joining WINTER HOLBEN, Patrick worked at a small residential architecture firm and volunteered with the Artist Coalition, helping them design Feng Shui cob housing. Outside of work, Patrick spends his time running, hiking, sketching, writing music and playing bass and guitar in two bands.

Our studio is located at "THINKYARD", a cooperative workspace located in the heart of the Kittery Foreside. We’re lucky to spend our days working amongst many creative entrepreneurs in a friendly and welcoming environment. We look forward to your next visit!
