Downtown Revitalization - Main Street | Concord, NH

This proposed city block revitalization for Main Street in Concord, New Hampshire aligns with the City’s master plan to transform the downtown into an improved place to work, shop, dine and live. Brandon Holben designed this large complex, which includes shopfront retail, offices, a boutique hotel, apartments, the Concord Public Library, and a rooftop restaurant. In addition to incorporating the aforementioned program elements, an important design objective was to enhance opportunities for cultural events, social gatherings, and commerce in downtown Concord. The exterior material palette emphasizes brick, stone, and glass in a varied composition of building modality. This contemporary approach to the building design, which is also sensitive to Concord’s largely historic architecture, was well-received by the Developer and City alike.
