A New Destination in the Kittery Foreside
At WINTER HOLBEN, we believe great design shapes how we live, work, and connect to our communities. That’s why we’ve invested in building our own mixed-use development right in the heart of Kittery Foreside—a vibrant, walkable neighborhood with deep ties to creativity, the working waterfront, and local culture.
Located at 3 Walker Street, this ambitious new project brings together everything we value: thoughtful design, community impact, and sustainability. The building will house our new architecture and design studio, a contemporary ground-floor gallery (Walker Contemporary), a light-filled penthouse apartment with views of the Piscataqua River, and two affordable one-bedroom units.
3 Walker isn’t just a building—it’s a creative anchor and a long-term investment in the place we’re proud to call home. Designed for sustainability and well-being, the fossil-fuel-free building uses all-electric heating and cooling, a high-performance envelope (R66 roof, R34 walls), and carbon-negative insulation made in Maine from residual wood chips. Other materials, including thermally modified pine siding, are also sourced locally, reinforcing our commitment to Maine craftsmanship and responsible design. An energy recovery ventilator (ERV) system supplies preheated fresh air to common spaces, promoting a healthy indoor environment alongside low-emitting finishes throughout.
