Lakefront Resort │ Maine

Resort experience master planning and design

Enlisted by this resort’s new ownership team, the WINTER HOLBEN team was asked to assist with rapidly planning and implementing a series of guest experience enhancements while also creating a five-year master plan for larger capital projects at this picturesque family resort along the shores of one of Maine’s premier recreational lakefront destinations.

The charge set forth by the client was to design experiences that are innovative for the area while also remaining true to the mission of family-oriented resort fun. With this objective in mind, WINTER HOLBEN is developing one-of-a kind shipping container units sited among the trees to replace outdated accommodations, reshaping the food and beverage experience with a focus on top-quality dining, and creating an overall design master plan for the resort of the future.

Hospitality Design & Architecture Features:

  • Creative short-term solutions to provide immediate visitor experience improvements while complimenting long-term improvement goals and initiatives
  • Development of innovative shipping container units to quickly convert older camping-style accommodations to more elevated and appropriate experiences that meet shoreline and minimal impact standards (rapid construction, low impact, efficient and elevated design solution)
  • Sustainable landscape solutions designed to maintain and improve the health of the natural environment
