WINTER HOLBEN Hosts Neighbor to Neighbor Housing Chat

Building Community Through Conversation

On May 11th, WINTER HOLBEN architecture + design was pleased to host the Neighbor to Neighbor Housing Chat at 3 Walker in Kittery Foreside in collaboration with Mainspring Collective and Home for All.

The event brought together local residents, advocates, community members, and professionals for an open and thoughtful conversation about the broad housing challenges facing the Seacoast region and communities beyond. Attendees shared personal experiences, perspectives, and concerns surrounding housing accessibility, affordability, and availability, while also discussing ideas for breaking down barriers to creating more housing opportunities in our communities.

As a firm grounded in the philosophy of designing places with purpose, we believe housing is one of the most important and complex issues shaping the future of our communities. Conversations like these are an important step toward building greater understanding, encouraging collaboration, and exploring meaningful solutions.

Hosting the discussion at 3 Walker — our mixed-use studio, gallery, and housing development in the heart of Kittery Foreside — felt especially meaningful given the project’s inclusion of affordable housing units and its broader focus on community-centered development.

We are grateful to Mainspring and Home for All for organizing the event and to everyone who participated in the conversation and shared their experiences and ideas.

At WINTER HOLBEN, we remain committed to staying actively engaged in the housing conversation and working toward thoughtful, positive solutions that help create stronger, more inclusive, and more vibrant communities.
