WINTER HOLBEN is seeking design, architecture, and operations talent to power next phase of growth

In just five years, WINTER HOLBEN has grown from a husband-and-wife creative duo sharing a single office to a multidisciplinary team of designers, architects and operational staff serving a range of clients across architecture and design portfolios. Now, as we ready for our next phase of growth (hint, stay tuned …), we’re adding four positions to our team.

  • A Brand Experience Designer reporting to Principal/Design Director Elisa Winter Holben, will support brand development (strategy, identity systems, wayfinding) and retail experience (environmental branding, merchandising, and architectural art).
  • A Graphic Designer, also reporting to Elisa, will focus on design for firm marketing and business development in addition to supporting client projects.
  • An Architectural Designer reporting to Principal Architect Brandon Holben, will support project coordination through the design phase and contribute to presentation, production and technical drawings.
  • An Operations Specialist will report to VP, Marketing & Operations Emily Wiggin. This role will be critical in supporting seamless workflow and operations across the firm.

“Each of these positions are terrific opportunities for design-loving people who are looking to build their careers and gain exposure to top-tier work and a diverse client range. We’ve built a very strong team over the last few years and we are excited to bring new talent into our highly collaborative firm. Each of our new team members will play an important role in the next phase of our evolution, as our multidisciplinary offerings and client list continue to expand,” says Elisa.

What’s it like to work at WINTER HOLBEN?

Employees can be part of a growing creative powerhouse

Not only is our team growing, so is our client list. WINTER HOLBEN is one of a very few firms in Northern New England with a truly multi-disciplinary portfolio of services in architecture and design and as a result, employees have the opportunity to work on projects for clients of all sizes – from Northern New England craft brewers to Fortune 100 banking. Our “big idea/small team” approach brings together architects, designers and interior environment experts to design seamless experiences in any built environment. We value and nurture the talent in our team members, and work to provide growth options and exposure to new skills and projects.

We care about our people

While we are intensely creative and hard-working, we also prioritize a healthy work-life balance for employees. Like so many firms, we went fully remote to keep everyone safe during COVID. As things begin to normalize, we’ve struck a balance with a hybrid in-office/remote schedule to maintain creative collaboration at our office while keeping the flexibility that remote work can offer. We also continuously evaluate our benefits program and enhance it annually. Benefits for first-year employees include a generous health insurance contribution, paid time off and holidays, professional development opportunities and more.

You can’t beat the location

Our growing firm now occupies most of the second floor in the historic Wallingford Square building, in the heart of the Kittery Foreside. Those who know it, love it - and if you haven’t yet had the pleasure of visiting, you’ll find a small but bustling seaside neighborhood of creative entrepreneurs and some of Maine’s best shops, galleries, cafes, cocktail bars and restaurants.
