Gastropub Design
A handful of modest design features make an outsized impression at The Wilder, where the challenge was to revitalize the dated architecture and interior fit-up at a former British pub, setting the scene for a new restaurant concept.
The addition of oversized windows at the second-floor space’s southwest corner and removal of a drop-ceiling create a sense of openness for guests, as well as a greater connection to the surrounding historic downtown. Opened in November 2017, The Wilder features American gastropub-style cuisine in an unstuffy—but still sophisticated—setting.
